About

DRCOG is leading the 92nd Avenue Corridor Study to address the urgent safety and transportation issues on 92nd Avenue, including speeding, traffic flow, accessibility and pedestrian access. The study will focus on the corridor between Federal Boulevard and Pecos Street. This effort is a collaborative partnership between DRCOG and the City of Federal Heights. This study is part of DRCOG's Community-Based Transportation Planning Program, which supports member jurisdiction efforts to address mobility challenges in historically marginalized communities in the Denver region.

We have listened to the community through events, surveys and outreach. Residents told us safety is the top concern, especially speeding near intersections, mobile home communities and residential driveways. Sidewalks that are too narrow or too close to traffic, unsafe crossings and the need for better lighting are also high priorities. Requests included new traffic signals, medians to prevent dangerous turns, and traffic calming measures such as speed bumps or rumble strips.

Based on this input, three design options have been developed to address these priorities. Community members can rank their preferred options in an online survey or provide feedback in person at pop-up events and a focus group.
