About

DRCOG led the 92nd Avenue Corridor Study to address urgent safety and transportation issues on 92nd Avenue, including speeding, traffic flow, accessibility and pedestrian access. The study focused on the corridor between Federal Boulevard and Pecos Street. This effort was a collaborative partnership between DRCOG and the City of Federal Heights. This study was part of DRCOG's Community-Based Transportation Planning Program, which supports member jurisdiction efforts to address mobility challenges in historically marginalized communities in the Denver region.

Through events, surveys and outreach, community members told us safety was the top concern, especially speeding near intersections, mobile home communities and residential driveways. Narrow and attached (no buffer from traffic) sidewalks, unsafe crossings and the need for better lighting were also high priorities.

The final plan identifies a preferred long-term concept and a phased implementation strategy to reduce crashes and speeding while improving multimodal access.
